Global Pacific was engaged by Sunbeam Corporation as Project Manager and Superintendent for the building, civil engineering and site remediation works.
The contaminated site was the former Sunbeam manufacturing facility that over many years had underground storage tanks deteriorate, leaking volatile Halogens such as Trichloroethylene into the surrounding soil and water table. Preliminary test results indicated that the contamination had entered into a water table and had spread off site.
The site and adjacent areas were required to be remediated to the approval of the EPA (NSW).
The project was the first in NSW to agree and satisfactorily complete the remediation program to a Voluntary Remediation Plan (VRP) developed and agreed with the EPA.
Global Pacific was awarded the Judges High Commendation Award for the category Construction / Engineering / Aerospace at the 2006 Project Management Achievement Awards.
