Innovation, original or borrowed, is the ability to bring into existence something new; a solution, method, object or form. Whilst there are only so many contract forms there are many combinations of business model and methods of project delivery that can be mixed and staged to deliver a beneficial outcome. Global Pacific’s consistent record of successful performance is largely due to our ability to conceptualise and produce innovative solutions.
We practise the delivery of new solutions by approaching every engagement with an open perspective that seeks maximum value extraction and creation. In every procurement (or transaction) there exist value items on both the demand and supply side. With public sector contracts the demand side focuses on the need in communities and the consistent delivery of quality services and, from the supply side, on capability to deliver, on risk allocation and meeting benchmark profit margins.
Our consultants are adept at identifying these key elements of transactions and at conveying insightful value extraction and creation ideas. In this product development phase we focus on elements of the transaction which enable the supplier to understand the State’s economics and priorities. These become products or mechanisms for performance improvement (for existing contracts) and business models (for new contracts). We also seek to answer the question; what kind of supplier is the client looking for? Are the profiles of certain organisations or consortia a better fit than others?
In addition to defining the business model, a contract is a mechanism for scoping the service through specification and Global Pacific provides prudent advice on contracts, payment and abatement regimes, and the application of technology and human resources. Some of these mechanisms lead to delivery of improvements and eliminating deficiencies. Strong client involvement will help deliver the procurement in a process that is clear to all stakeholders as issues are reduced, eliminated or set aside for negotiation. We answer the question; how will the contract design improve the delivery?
